Camila and Juan
The couple met
at the reopening of Camila's restaurant in February 2022. She didn't want to be there and was focused on training a new bar team. Juan saw Camila for the first time and it was love at first sight. Within a fortnight of the opening, nearly everyone at the bar got sick except for them, and they worked every shift, from open to close, together, for a week, when they began to get to know each other better. Camila was not expecting to fall for an employee, much less someone who was twelve years younger than her, but Juan was charming, funny, and knew the lyrics to her favorite perreo songs, and so slowly, she started to open her heart.
They began spending time together
outside of work, where they began to develop feelings for each other. They knew they liked each other beyond friends when Juan offered to give Camila a ride from work to the arena for a Bad Bunny concert. She could have walked and it would have taken ten minutes, but they both sat in traffic for over half an hour, beginning to fall in love. The final test came when Juan met Camila's son, Fox MacLeod, and treated him with sweet playfulness, which melted Camila's heart and solidified Juan as her perfect loving partner. They officially began as a couple on Monday, the eleventh of April, two thousand and twenty-two. Soon after, they took a trip to Mexico City together, testing that if they could travel together and still like each other, they would have a good relationship.
Later that year
the lovebirds became pregnant with a baby girl, Astrid Ball, who's imminence brought seriousness and profundity to the relationship. Without hesitation, Juan moved in with Camila that autumn, and their families spent Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas together at one big table. These were the most precious gifts their sweet daughter could have given them before passing away on News Years Eve. In their gratitude-filled mourning, the pair saw the opportunity to enjoy more time as a young couple before getting married first and then planning a pregnancy together the next time around.
Fast forward
to autumn of two thousand twenty-three when Camila and Juan took a trip to Mexico City, immediately followed by a trip to New York City—their two favorite places to visit together. Juan surprised Camila with reservations to her favorite New York restaurant, Contra, that was closing in a few weeks. They were in their hotel room at the Ned in Nomad, number twelve-ten with the view of the Empire State Building, about to go to dinner, when Juan got on one knee and asked Camila to marry him. Camila was overjoyed and hugged him until Juan proclaimed, "let me put the ring on you!"
They are each other's first true love.
